tic Learning Centre
The tic’s Learning Centre exists to support students with their studies and help maximise their potential. Services include:
Library Support – The tic library has a stock of over 18,000 titles and subscribes to academic journals in-house and on-line. It also has access to over 400,000 items stored at other Birmingham City University libraries as well as the Birmingham City University Digital Library.
ICT Support - Offers help and instruction with common software packages. It also provides general technical advice on how to make best use of the tic’s computing resources.
ASSET – The ‘Academic Skills Support & Employability Team’ offers one-to-one support, workshops and tip-sheets covering a range of academic skills such as report writing, time management and presentations.
The Learning Centre also hosts weekly workshops and drop-in sessions from the Student Services team based at Birmingham City University’s Perry Barr campus. These include the Careers Advisor, Chaplain, Student Counsellor, Financial Advisor, Dyslexic Advisor and the Student Jobshop.
