Industrial Placements
The tic encourages students to further enhance their prospects by including an Industrial Placement in their course. To qualify for the award of a sandwich degree, students must spend at least 36 weeks on an Industrial Placement. This takes place after the second year of study and therefore extends the course to four years.
Each student is assigned an academic supervisor from tic and an industrial mentor from their placement organisation. A dedicated placements team at tic, and the academic supervisor, assures that you will be supported and your progress monitored throughout the year.
With employers increasingly viewing student’s hard-earned qualifications as part of an overall package of requirements, an Industrial Placement is a great opportunity to acquire essential workplace experience.
In addition to improving a your employment prospects, an Industrial Placement provides an opportunity to try out a potential career path and earn some much needed money. The knowledge and experience gained can also prove invaluable when you return to your studies in the final year.
