Local Transport

With a modern fleet of vehicles and miles of dedicated lanes, the bus is by far the easiest method of transport around Birmingham.

Travel West Midlands is the major bus operator with a maximum single fare of £1.10*. A ‘Student Faresaver’ travel card can however be more convenient and cost-effective.

These cost approximately £111.00* for fixed four monthly terms and £55.00* for the summer period. They can be purchased from the Travel West Midlands Centre in the Pavillions Central shopping centre (approx.10 minutes walk from tic, next to Marks and Spencer).

The 995, 996, 997, 51, 52, 33, 34, 107 and 113X bus routes all travel between the city centre and the ‘One Stop’ shopping centre directly opposite the Perry Barr campus. With this number of routes between tic and Perry Barr, a regular service is assured. Journey time is approximately 15 minutes thanks to those bus lanes!
