School & College Liaison

Racing MicroMiceThe tic works closely with schools and colleges in the region to encourage students to investigate the exciting range of technology-led career opportunities. Activities include:

School & College visits.
The tic Schools Liaison Officer is available to visit year 12 classes in schools and colleges to inform and support students seeking to enter into Higher Education.

A talk of approximately 35 minutes will provide general advice regarding entry to and life at University. It will also introduce students to the opportunities that exist in the broad field of technology.

The opportunity to meet staff from various universities is invaluable to students who are trying to make important decisions about their future. With the stresses of examinations and coursework in year twelve, many students particularly welcome the ease of having this help through a tic visit to their school.

Staff wishing to arrange a visit to their school should contact the Schools Liaison Officer using the details below.

Master Classes
Each Spring the tic offers Masterclasses for Year 12 students studying in the West Midlands. The theme for 2005 will be Product Design; full details will be posted here when available.
.
Technology Days
In July the tic hosts ‘Innovative Technology’, a week of technology awareness days for Year 12 students.

These ‘hands-on’ days are invaluable to students planning their futures in Higher Education, providing the opportunity to gain a greater depth of knowledge in a range of subject disciplines.
